Seventies’ classic remade by Heidi Tann
Indie pop jazz artist Heidi Tann has released a cover of seventies’ hit Baby Come Back, first released by Player. Tann and music arranger Bobby Gomez started collaborating on the remake in 2021 with guitarist Nils adding his own sparkle to the track.
This latest rendition features Tann’s signature smooth and vibrant style, and while the single was officially released on 15 April, pre-release promotional plays and online sales have already placed it at the top of several indie charts.
“Recording a remake of Player’s Baby Come Back has always been on my list,” says Tann in a press release.
“After my single Good Vibez was submitted for Grammy consideration last year (2022), I felt that this song is a good follow up as it allows me to bring the elements of jazz, R&B, and a slight emotionality into it.”
Baby Come Back features the guitar artistry of Nils (Pacific Coast Highway), a Billboard smooth jazz artist.
“I am extra excited over this single because of Nils’ participation,” Tann says. “Additionally, sound engineering was provided by Grammy winning producer Pete Tokar. This is just such a wonderful collaboration with very talented artists.”
