Sax player Von Stupart gets his second wind in ‘retirement’

Music has always been a huge part of Von Stupart‘s life. He started formal music lessons at the age of 12, picking up the trumpet, and having arrived at high school promptly switched to the saxophone.
After working for 40 years and now ‘retired’, he is enjoying the fruits of his labour in this new season of his life. He says he’s thrilled to be able to pour all of his passion and experience into creating music to share with the world.
“Music has always been a huge part of my life,” says Stupart. “My father played trumpet and I started formal music lessons at an early age. I have been developing and honing my craft ever since.”
Stupart lives in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and records as an independent artist. The Covid issue gave him an opportunity to get creative,
“When the world shut down due to the pandemic, I was able to start working on my solo project which is something I have always wanted to do,” he says – proving every cloud has at least one silver lining.
“I was able to connect with some awesome musicians and with the use of modern technology things really came together.”
While Stupart’s primary instrument is the tenor saxophone, he also plays alto, soprano and electronic wind instruments (EWI).
Stupart’s latest cut is Come Party With Me and is a Just Jazz Cool Cut of the Week…
