Rod Best is back to dominate the keys

Prolific smooth jazz pianist and composer Rod Best returns with his new album Key Domination and joining him in the studio are Dan Gibney on drums, Lene Amato on bass, and John Best on guitars.

Following Brisbane-based Rod’s normal style, each of the album’s 15 tracks delivers a sweet smooth jazz experience that’s pleasant on the ear and ideal for after-dinner background atmosphere.

Rod played the Hammond organ in churches before moving on to the piano. He studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Jazz Improvisation and Advanced Arranging, developing in composition and arrangement in jazz and contemporary keyboarding styles. He also studied at Jazz Worx in Brisbane where he received an Associate Diploma in Jazz.

Over the years Rod has been involved in the training and developing of singers and musicians, as well as writing arrangements for small stage bands, orchestras, directing major musical productions, and song composition.

To date he has released more than a dozen instrumental albums, and they are all available where ever you buy your music.

Rod’s latest collection – Key Domination – continues the feel-good jazz sound he’s known for, good honest smooth jazz, that’s straight from the heart. Below is a track from the album – Cool Change. Buy the album here.
