Marc Staggers‘ new single With Me continues his soulful and smooth jazz journey that started with the release of his debut R&B album Then and Now in 2009. His latest release features Brian Cunningham on sax.
Staggers started is career singing in the church choir, and studied voice as he was growing up – influenced by the likes of American singer, songwriter, and record producer Luther Vandross.
Staggers’ initial foray as a recording artist started with the release of several gospel albums, on which he worked with talented singers such as the late Clifton Dyson (the younger brother of Ronnie Dyson).
Staggers’ debut CD Then and Now (produced under the guidance of brother Reginald Staggers) generated significant interest and support.
In 2011 he released a summertime single entitled Soul Summer Love that reached 13 on the US jazz charts. The track is included on Key to My Heart, released on Expansion Records (UK,) and which features John Stoddard, Kirk Whalum, and soprano Adoree Johnson.
